CapCut Draft Export

Export video clips generated by ArcReel as a CapCut draft for each episode, then open the draft directly in CapCut Desktop for further editing—adjust the pacing, add subtitles, transitions, voice-over, and more.

Prerequisites​

  • Video clips have been generated for at least one episode in ArcReel
  • CapCut Desktop (5.x or 6+) is installed locally

Steps​

1. Locate the CapCut draft directory​

Before exporting, you need to know where local CapCut drafts are stored.

macOS:

/Users/<username>/Movies/JianyingPro/User Data/Projects/com.lveditor.draft

Windows:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\JianyingPro\User Data\Projects\com.lveditor.draft

Tip: You can find the "Draft Location" in CapCut Settings. If you changed the default location, use the actual draft directory.

2. Start the export in ArcReel​

  1. Open the target project
  2. Click Export in the upper-right corner
  3. Select Export to CapCut Draft

3. Enter the export parameters​

Click Export Draft. The browser downloads a ZIP file.

4. Extract into the draft directory​

Extract the downloaded ZIP file into the CapCut draft directory entered above. The extracted structure is as follows:

5. Open in CapCut​

  1. Open (or restart) CapCut Desktop
  2. Find the newly added {项目名}_第{N}集 draft in the "Drafts" list
  3. Double-click it to see all video clips on the timeline

Exported Content​

CapCut export, the workspace presentation preview, and editable bundle downloads all read the same presentation selection. Video and optional TTS tracks use the selected versions, and track lengths come from the media files' actual durations. Original audio and TTS remain at their original speed and unity gain; ArcReel does not truncate, time-stretch, mix, or re-encode them. Mechanical subtitle timing is allocated from the actual media boundary and text length, and remains adjustable or replaceable in CapCut.

A manually uploaded video without generation provenance is exported unchanged and is explicitly marked as having unavailable provenance. ArcReel does not infer its currency or generate TTS or subtitles for it.

Narration Mode​

  • Video track: All generated video clips arranged in order
  • Subtitle track: The corresponding original novel text is automatically added as subtitles for each clip (white text with a black outline); the style and position can be adjusted freely in CapCut
  • Narration track: TTS Overlay includes existing TTS; Original Audio does not add a separate narration track

Drama Mode​

  • Video track: All generated video clips arranged in scene order
  • Subtitle track: Character dialogue and voice-over from the screenplay are added automatically; the style, position, and timing can be adjusted further in CapCut

Canvas Size​

Determined automatically from the project settings:

  • Portrait (9:16) → 1080×1920
  • Landscape (16:9) → 1920×1080

If the project has no aspect ratio configured, it is detected automatically from the first video file.

Troubleshooting​

The exported draft does not appear in CapCut​

  • Confirm that the ZIP was extracted into the correct draft directory
  • Confirm that the extracted folder is directly inside the draft directory (do not add an extra enclosing folder)
  • Try restarting CapCut

What if the versions do not match?​

The CapCut version selected during export must match the locally installed version:

  • CapCut 6.0 or later → select 6.0+
  • CapCut 5.x → select 5.x

If you selected the wrong version, export again and select the correct one.

Some video clips are missing​

The export includes only video clips that were generated successfully. Clips that have not yet been generated or whose generation failed do not appear in the draft. Return to ArcReel, generate the missing clips, and export again.
